On Saturday May 4, volunteers from 4-H clubs, Scouts, Girl Guides, schools, church organizations, Rotary clubs, sports teams, and other non-profit organizations will participate in an annual highway cleanup event along provincial highways across Alberta.

The Alberta government made the announcement with a statement from Devin Dreeshan, the minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors. "On May 4, join us in keeping Alberta’s highways clean and safe for everyone. Together, we can make a difference in our communities. I want to thank all the volunteers for participating in this year’s annual highway cleanup."

The announcement also states that between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on May 4, volunteers in orange safety vests will be collecting trash along provincial highways and that drivers are reminded to slow down, obey signs, watch for pedestrians, and use caution when passing cleanup crews.
